The Editory Boulevard Aliados Hotel - Preferred Hotels

The complimentary upgrade was a great surprise, and our room stayed quiet, looked lovely, and was cleaned carefully each day. We even found chocolates in the room daily. From the moment we arrived, service was polished and check-in was clear and informative. The historic center location is excellent, and for the price the stay felt like remarkable value. I’d recommend the hotel, though breakfast was the one letdown: not much variety, a broken coffee machine, and service that felt less warm and attentive than the rest of the team.

We were able to leave our bags at reception on the last day and see more of the city before my 8 pm flight. The hotel is only about 150 meters from city hall, so getting to Porto's attractions was easy, and the staff were available and helpful around the clock. I paid €125 a night for an elegant room. One thing to know if you're sharing: the bathroom window needs a curtain, since someone else could see you. Breakfast was €16 per person per day, buffet style, with unlimited food. For the price and quality, I don't think there are better options nearby. There's also a modern gym, handy after eating all that pastel de nata. Highly recommend.

The location worked well for everywhere I wanted to go, though it's at the edge of the old town, so the walk back uphill at night is worth knowing about. I felt very looked after here. Paulo was especially helpful with my bags on the first day, and the room was spacious with a great shower. I did hear traffic from the street and some thuds from adjoining rooms, but it didn't bother me too much.

The hotel was spotless, and I loved the lovely scent in the lobby when we came in. Staff were friendly and quick to help with our questions, and they welcomed us with a Pastel da Nata cake, always a win. The Editory is also brilliantly placed for exploring Porto: the metro is right outside, the main train station is a three-minute walk away, and most places are only minutes on foot. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
