The staff were an absolute delight, and our room was immaculate. We were lucky to get upgraded to the 'Porcelain' suite, and impressed doesn’t begin to cover how we felt about it. The building was once a palace, and you can see that in the gorgeous architecture. It was an amazing place to stay while visiting beautiful Porto. I have coeliac disease, and breakfast was included. The staff always took the time to offer gluten-free choices, including bread and a hot option such as scrambled eggs or a gluten-free English breakfast. The room was serviced twice a day, with morning cleaning and an early evening turn-down. After exploring the city, the complimentary dark chocolates were always a welcome treat. I also loved the little informative bookmarks left on my pillow each day. The staff had clearly noticed I’m a reader and made the effort to leave them for me. ❤️ And after a day of walking, soaking in the giant bath tub made the stay even more special. Would I recommend this place? Hell yes! I’m already planning to come back to the city, and beautiful Torel 1884 and its staff were a big part of that decision.

Breakfast was a real highlight, fresh and delicious, and our server was thoughtful, professional, and quick. The room was comfortable, the service excellent, and every detail seemed carefully considered. We had a lovely three nights here, and for what we paid compared with what we got, it felt like a bargain, perhaps thanks to winter prices. We’d happily recommend it and stay again when we’re back in Porto. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

We stayed in the Madeiras Exóticas Suite, which was beautiful and so comfortable. The hotel also arranged a guided tour of Porto’s city center on Saturday, which we really appreciated. The breakfast is served fresh to the table, a lovely idea, though the dining room could be watched a little more closely so everything ordered arrives without delays. Housekeeping took wonderful care of our room and cleaned it twice a day. Reception were welcoming and very helpful too. Between the location, magical atmosphere, thoughtful details, and outstanding service, staying at Torel Hotel really felt like an experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast at Bartholomeu was delicious, and Mr Helder and Jorge were always attentive and helpful with what we needed. Mr Helder also gave us great advice on places to visit. We had a wonderful lunch at the sister hotel Torel Advantgarde, with its lovely city views. The hotel is right in the center, close to all the attractions, and the rooms were excellent. The staff were the best, friendly, polite, efficient, and always ready to help. Thanks to Torel 1884 for making our trip memorable. Impeccable service!

The included breakfast was very good, and George looked after us so well each morning. All the staff were excellent. Daniel even carried our luggage from the main hotel up the stairs to our apartment, which is a short walk uphill away. Our apartment faced the street and had plenty of space, with a kitchen and dining table. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and someone came by each evening to turn down the bed and leave chocolates. We had a wonderful stay at Torel Suites and Apartments. For the price, I doubt you’ll find a better hotel in Porto. Big kudos to the staff and management.
