Vale Formoso Flat by Amber Star Rent

José was the best part of our stay, super friendly and always around if we needed anything. Residencial Vale Formoso has a vintage feel, and the bathroom was the nicest I've seen in years, roomy with a shower, bathtub and even a bidet. It's close to bus stops, so getting downtown is easy. The sound insulation could be better, but I'd still suggest staying at residencial Vale formoso when visiting Porto.

Pablo and his mum and dad were so sweet and made us feel right at home. They also pointed us to good local places to eat and visit. The place is basic and quirky, but close enough to the city centre, with metro and local buses nearby. We enjoyed staying here.

It was a clean, tidy basement room in a very basic hotel, and okay for the price. The tourist area of Porto is about a 30-minute walk away. The neighborhood isn't great, though there are bakeries nearby for morning coffee. Next time I'd personally pay more for a better location and experience.

The bakery across the street is nice and cheap, and there's a Lidl about five minutes away. The place felt a little expensive for somewhere not close to the city centre. Our room was in the basement with poor ventilation, just two electrical outlets for several people and none in the bathroom. The low roof access, about 1.75cm, is easy to hit your head on. The staff were overly friendly, but took 30 minutes to give us the keys. They recommended only the most expensive nearby places to eat, around 15€, though you can eat for 4€.
