Estalagem Muchaxo Hotel

I chose the dune room because the sea view option was outside my budget, and I ended up loving it even more than I expected. Sitting on the balcony was lovely, with no wind, and nights were very quiet. At dinner, I got to chat with the hotel owner, and the staff were so friendly while I ate alone. They made the experience feel warm and personal. I stayed around two months ago for my birthday, and I still think about the place. The vintage decor and music made me feel like I’d stepped into a 1950s film, and I enjoyed the atmosphere at dinner. If you want to feel small beside the Atlantic Ocean, this hotel is perfectly situated. Love from Scotland, I’ll be back one day.

The hotel and rooms looked clearly outdated and not very clean. Some sofas had stains, and the windows definitely needed washing. The pool looked fancy from a distance, but it had algae growing in it, so we didn’t go in. The location was great, right by a very beautiful beach, and breakfast and dinner were good enough.

Right by the ocean, with breathtaking views, and the pool area was lovely. The staff were very kind, service was excellent, and everything else was really clean. It had a warm, authentic atmosphere and a distinctive old-school charm. Breakfast was simple, fresh and satisfying. The rooms were the weak point, quite old and needing renovation. Luckily, that work has already started, so things look promising. A charming stay, with room to improve and plenty of character.

The view and location were really nice, and the place felt very safe. There’s parking, too. But the hotel and room are extremely old. My room had only a bed, with no fridge or microwave, and looked a little spooky. Just very old, I think.
