Interpass Alvaflor

We had a lovely week at the Alvaflor and felt it was good value for money. The area is quiet, with no bar or entertainment at the hotel. Three supermarkets are about a 10-minute walk away, the Marina is around 15 minutes on foot and has plenty of restaurants, and the beaches are about 20 minutes away. There’s a Vilamoura beach beside the casino and Falesia beach on the other side of the Marina. Falesia has miles of sand, and the courtesy bus drops you five minutes away, but it only runs at 10.30 am or 4.30 pm. There’s also a mini or crazy golf course about ten minutes away, good for adults and kids though a little expensive. If you’re feeling energetic, Quartiera is about a 40-minute walk, or you can get a bus from the Marina. Reception staff were very helpful, especially Sara, who was always happy to assist. A better area map would help, as we got a little lost on our first day. The pool was lovely but freezing, which wasn’t surprising in October. Our one-bedroom self-catering apartment had everything we needed. It had two single beds in the bedroom, a large wardrobe, and a living room sofa that pulled out into a bed for one person. The bedroom beds were comfy, though the sofa bed was a little hard. There was a chair and a TV with a few English channels in the living room. The kitchen had a four-ring hob, toaster, kettle, fridge and freezer, plus a coffee machine and juicer we didn’t use. The fridge door was hanging off when we arrived, and the ice box had thawed into the fridge, but staff fixed it straight away after we reported it. There was a large table with chairs in the kitchen and another set on the balcony. The large balcony could be reached from both the kitchen and bedroom. The rooms were a bit dated and tatty, but that was what I expected for the price.
