Getting to the marina and beach is an easy 20-minute walk, with Quatteria another pleasant 15 minutes along the coast. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by, and two Spar supermarkets nearby as well. A courtesy bus runs to the marina and beach four times a day. The apartment was spacious and spotless, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we got clean towels daily. Around the good-sized pool there were plenty of sunbeds, and the gardens were well kept. There’s also a snack bar serving food and drinks all day at reasonable prices. We’d definitely think about coming back.

We had a great stay at Apartmentos Zarco, and would happily come back if we visit Vilamoura again. The apartment was clean and lovely, with housekeeping each afternoon and fresh towels. It had the utilities needed to make food, though there are also plenty of good restaurants around. Having air conditioning in every room was a big plus. The desk staff were friendly and said hello whenever we came in. We arrived late, and they kindly offered to make us a pizza, which was a Godsend. Reception can arrange a taxi for 50c, then it’s about €5 to the marina, so the fare is reasonable when shared. Walking there is fun too, thanks to a fitness circuit that runs along most of the route. After a few too many drinks, the walk back was especially entertaining. Many thanks!

The kitchen had the essentials, though it could have been better equipped. The rooms were spotless, and every member of staff we met was helpful and very friendly. For the price, it’s a great apartment with everything you could want. I’m looking forward to coming back.

BEWARE, keep your valuables locked away here. I left my North face jacket hanging in the wardrobe during a recent stay. We checked out at 4:45am, and when I called at 10am, before the 11am checkout time, to ask for it back, it had disappeared. I’ve called several times since to try to find it, but the staff have been extremely unhelpful. They said they’d look and call us back. Two days later, we’re still waiting to hear anything. It left a very sour taste after an otherwise pleasant holiday in Vilamoura.
