Vila Gale Marina Resort Hotel

Check-in was a breeze, and the rooms were cleaned regularly. Great location, very handy for bars and restaurants.

The pool bar staff were my one criticism. Some of the young women there were smiley and friendly, but a few others came across as surly and less welcoming. I was overcharged twice, so check your receipt before paying. Otherwise, the location is great for The Marina, golf courses, and getting around in general. Uber was readily available and reasonably priced.

The Marina area is great, with lovely food and something for everyone. My wife and I spent ten days here last week for our anniversary and my birthday. We’d read some of the reviews beforehand but had no worries, the hotel was fabulous. The rooms were just what we wanted, the facilities were great, and the staff were really helpful. Breakfasts were lovely too. After we’d been out on a really lovely boat trip, we came back to find a complimentary bottle of rose and chocolate cake on the table, with our cards. We had a great time, really recommend it, and will be going back.

Music blared all day, so napping was out, and getting into the hotel on foot after dark felt a little sketchy. The route from the Marina is basically a dark alley on either side of the building. I imagine they’re trying to limit foot traffic from the Marina bars and clubs, but I’d much rather have a proper sidewalk than an alley. The only other option seemed to be walking through a dark park. Apart from that, it was a great stay. The place was comfortable and easy to get around, and the staff were super nice. I’d stay again if I found a great deal.
