Being able to walk to Monsaraz in the morning was wonderful. We loved the setting, the service, the friendly people, and especially the breakfast. We'd love to come back. After the recent heavy rain, though, some rooms had become very humid and smelled of mould. I'd suggest leaving the doors and windows open on sunny days.

We came to Horta da Coutada for our wedding anniversary and were surprised with a superior room in the best spot on the property. The staff were so kind and nice. It was a peaceful few days in beautiful Alentejo, with time to relax, enjoy good food in Monsaraz, and feel close to nature. We'll definitely return.

After six days in Algarve, it was lovely to arrive somewhere so authentic, with peaceful, beautiful villages around. On the way to eat at Sem Fim, step a little away from the premises and look up at the stars. Highly recommend.

The gardens, pool, and shared seating areas were spotless and tastefully decorated. Staff were always nearby, friendly, professional, and ready to help with whatever you needed. The place is fascinating, mixing old and new while still feeling quaint and comfortable. We had a perfect two-day stay, with an unbeatable base for exploring Monsaraz and the surrounding towns.

It's an unusual place and conveniently located for visiting lots of historic sites. We stayed two nights. The rooms could use some updating, the TV remotes needed batteries and still didn't work well, and the air conditioning only just managed to keep things cool.
