A nice spot to spend a few nights in Ponta Delgada.

Everything was clean and pleasant. The place is nicely furnished, with coffee and biscuits waiting for guests, and there’s parking in the courtyard. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the airport.

The mattress was so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor, and the apartment got humid and smelly because we didn’t dare leave the windows open. We were two adults staying for seven days in August in a ground-floor unit, with street-facing windows and no bars, which didn’t make us feel secure while we were out all day. There were also lots of mosquitoes, even though we had no food or open rubbish in the house. The apartment itself was simple but fine. I’d like to come back to Sao Miguel, but we’d choose somewhere else to stay.

We arrived at night and needed a place for one night in Amartmán Valados, close to the airport for our early flight. We hadn’t realized we wouldn’t be staying at the listed accommodation address, but in the owners’ apartment with them there overnight. The €65 price felt considerable, and although the owners were helpful, the stay wasn’t pleasant for us.
