Quinta do Outeiro

The driveway gets extremely narrow in one spot, which was a little scary, but I still highly recommend this fabulous inn. The views across the vineyards and down into the valley are extraordinary. Everything was super clean and the staff were extra nice. Breakfast was included, with two fruit choices, juices, a yogurt and fruit parfait, fresh breads, ham, cheese and really good coffee.

The hotel has a spectacular view, and the food and rooms were great for the wedding we attended. Some parts felt disorganized. Our bus from Porto dropped us outside the gate, so we all had to carry our luggage uphill to registration. After assigning our rooms, a kind woman drove me to mine and carried my bag up the stairs. Most guests were senior citizens, and thankfully nobody got hurt. The walk to the rooms was difficult too, with steep, hilly roads that were stony and unpaved, so I was glad to have good walking shoes. The wedding reception was wonderful, but they weren’t prepared for us to need dinner the following night. We had to order online, collect it and eat without help from the hotel. The taxi was late, and half the guests were left starving.

The valley views were unbeatable, and staying in Casa Do Caseiro felt like being at home. It was an incredible house, with a dining area and pool right outside, so there was no need to go far. Felipe was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make our stay as good as possible. We were blown away from the moment we arrived and couldn’t have been happier. This is the best place we’ve ever stayed. The photos don’t do justice to how beautiful it really is. Thank you!

The rooms were very nice, with great views, and the wedding food and service were great. One downside was that there was nowhere to sit on the two huge terraces, despite their amazing views. Also, the road up to the Quinta is very steep and narrow, though obviously that isn’t the hotel’s fault.
