Moinho do Senta, the old windmill house, was the perfect getaway for my husband, me, and our little dog family. We spent a week there while I took a pottery class in Caldas da Rainha. With its rustic cabin feel and charming little touches, it reminded me so much of the family cabin I grew up with. We loved taking the dogs along the hillside walks and paths that start right at the doorstep. The staff were all incredibly friendly and made sure we were comfortable and had a wonderful stay. If you want a simple place surrounded by nature, this is ideal. We’ll definitely rent here again. Thank you, Casa do Foral!

There are just six rooms at this lovely cottage, with old-world features, a pleasant garden, and a pool. We enjoyed our stay. The bus station is 15 minutes away, and from there it takes an hour to get to Lisboa.

The staff are friendly and very patient, and we had a good experience overall. The breakfast costs too much for what you get. There’s no air conditioning in the rooms, so the heatwave made things uncomfortable. Since it’s a stone house, though, it should be fine in more reasonable weather.
