Casa dos Xarês

The owner was so kind and welcoming, and cooked an amazing dinner with local dishes. I really recommend trying it. The accommodation was beautiful and clean, and the pool and bar terrace had a great view. I'll come back whenever I'm travelling in this area.

The natural setting around the house was stunning. We saw birds, deer and bunnies, and in spring the hills were covered with yellow and purple flowers. The wild lavender was especially lovely. Casa dos Xares was by far the best place I stayed in during my time in Portugal, and one of the best accommodations I've ever had. Thank you, Isabel! The rooms and house were beautiful, clean and comfortable. The owner offered to cook since there aren't any restaurants close by, and the meals she made for us were delicious and completely vegan. She also shared useful ideas for things to do and see nearby and in the Tejo Natural Park, along with interesting stories about the area, without ever being intrusive. I can recommend this place 100%.

We spotted several deer thanks to the house's setting in the Tejo International Natural Park. The saltwater pool was a lovely way to cool off in the heat, with a stunning view, an incredible sunset and starry skies at night. Even though it was over 35°C, our rooms stayed cool, comfortable and clean. The welcome was warm, and every member of staff was friendly and helpful, including D. Isabel, Sr. Acácio, Francisco and Laura. Breakfast was simple but complete, with homemade and regional products. We loved D. Isabel's delicious outdoor meals, as well as the snacks and drinks thoughtfully served at the bar. We highly recommend staying here.

The setting was peaceful and quiet, with lovely natural views, and Casa dos Xarês is especially well placed for nature lovers. It's on the beautiful, wild deer route. The pool was refreshing on hot days, the bar had a good range of beers, and the barbecue area was well equipped for outdoor time with friends or family. Breakfast was very tasty, with plenty to choose from, and the team were attentive and helpful. I had a very pleasant stay and would like to return. I'd recommend Casa dos Xarês to anyone looking for somewhere restful with things to enjoy and good service.
