Mesao Provesende

June 2021 We enjoyed the stay so much that we returned four days after leaving and stayed again. Jet and Ronald were the best part: warm, genuine hosts who love travel, people and wine, and are wonderful cooks. We shared evening meals with them and had great conversations over breakfast. The grounds were immaculate, the accommodation was lovely, and the little pool was small but mighty. Our beds were the most comfortable we had in Portugal. The location also made it easy to reach wineries and hiking trails. We’re already eager to return.

We had a spacious, comfortable suite, and the garden and views were spectacular. The house is historic and sits in Provesende’s lovely old wine town, close to plenty of vineyards. Our dinner with Ronald and the other guests was a highlight, with good food, wine and conversation. Ronald and his wife Jet were friendly and interesting. We had a perfect two-night stay, though I’d recommend staying longer if you can. Thank you!

Dinner with wine is well worth doing here. We joined on a night when everyone else did too, and it turned into a lovely social evening. The food was delicious, the wine kept coming, and the man of the house knows so much about wine that the tasting was educational as well. It’s also amazing value. The house is in a beautiful location, the hosts are welcoming, and the rooms are quite spacious. We had a very relaxing couple of days and would definitely return.

A tiny guesthouse in a traditional old village, with lovely views and a great location. The hosts are very nice, and dinner is available if you’d like it. Highly recommended.
