The breakfast João prepares with the best local produce is a real treat, and he’s an exceptionally welcoming and accommodating host. Casa de Lomba gives you a real feel for village life in rural Portugal. The building follows the local style while still having the modern comforts you need. Step outside on a sunny morning to fresh air and a lovely rural landscape of gardens, vineyards, fields, woods, and stone walls. Go for it!

This is a cozy, traditional home typical of this part of Portugal. It’s in a village with no amenities, but Sabugal is just 10 km away and has everything, including a river beach. I highly recommend it.

I spent four days here and found exactly the peace and quiet I needed to rest. It’s a beautiful village where birdsong was the only thing breaking the silence. The house is fantastic, rustic, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Its decor feels full of stories from the past. The host was so friendly and helpful, and welcomed us warmly. Thank you, Sr. João Santos, for your kindness, availability, and the comfort you gave us. I left with my heart and soul full, and I’ll be back very soon. See you soon.

The welcome was warm, with some local products offered to us, and the outdoor area has a lovely bucolic feel. The pool was very pleasant, though the upkeep of both outdoor spaces could be improved, particularly the fencing, so adventurous pets can’t get out. In this small, peaceful village in Portugal’s interior, the decor has the feel of a charming hotel, with pastel shades, rustic pieces, and a traditional kitchen alongside modern, comfortable furniture. Local vendors come through regularly selling delicious regional breads and cured meats. It’s worth a visit.

About 30 km from Guarda, this small village is wonderfully peaceful. The house was clean, simply and nicely decorated, and the rooms had heating and Wi-Fi. Sr. João and Sr.ª Olga provided excellent service. There are restaurants within 9 km, but no ATM.
