We had a couple of questions when we arrived, and the hosts replied within minutes, even though it was late on a Saturday night. They'd left us a lovely welcome message and treats, along with their phone number. The property is huge, with first-class fittings and everything provided for guests. It's a peaceful mountain setting with unrivalled views, ideal if you want to get away from the crowds. Salir is a two-minute drive away, with the basics and reasonably priced restaurants. A family of four ate well for £35, and the Spar has a better selection than the UK version. Anywhere we wanted to go was within 45 minutes. Unbelievable place, far beyond what we expected. We'd give it 10 stars if we could. Highly recommended, thank you!

The view is wonderful, and it makes up for a few things that need attention. There could also be another parasol for the sun beds. The hot tub is very old, its coating is peeling and leaves grit on you, which isn't pleasant. It takes all day to warm up, every day, because it's set to switch off at night. With young children, the open marble stairs near the living room and kitchen leading down to the games room aren't safe; they urgently need a gate. The main family bathroom shower is weak and slow, with a tiny head that doesn't feel substantial enough. Still, it's a beautiful villa in a lovely setting.

The owners are easy to reach and quick to respond, and the villa itself is beautiful, spacious, and well equipped, with a nice kitchen and amazing views. You'll need a hire car because public transport isn't great, but there are good supermarkets nearby and plenty to do within an hour's drive. The hot tub was cold when we arrived. They came to sort it on the second day, but it didn't get close to 30deg until late in the week. The internet is really poor, and we only found out shortly before travelling. Two families with kids couldn't stream what they wanted. Mobile coverage is weak too, and the WiFi is throttled, capped, and barely reaches beyond the living room. Don't count on working on a laptop or streaming a bedtime story to the kids' bedrooms. You can't flush toilet paper, which sounds minor until the poo-filled bins get pretty nasty with kids around.
