We felt at home at Quinta da Cumieira from the start. The hosts were easy to reach, answered our questions, and were glad to share local tips. The garden, with all its cozy places to sit, is still something we remember fondly, as is the pool overlooking the valley. We also appreciated how much of the Quinta’s original character has been kept. We spent a wonderful week there in August, in the beautiful village of Cumieira, and would wholeheartedly recommend a stay.

The hosts were so friendly and attentive, and the scenery was breathtaking. The pool, the rooms, everything was perfect. It was my best accommodation experience in Portugal, and I highly recommend it.

We were warmly welcomed by Mr. Pedro, though it was a shame we were only passing through. It’s a wonderful place with excellent Port wines. Jorge Amado was there too and received a wine from a barrel made in his honor 🙏🏻

The service was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. It’s a welcoming rural place, with very pretty, clean rooms and a house that feels rustic and is well equipped.
