Ribeira Delos

The setting is extremely beautiful, right in the middle of nature, but as a couple visiting in July, we didn’t find it the best choice for summer. The room was small and very hot, with woodlice and centipedes. There were lots of insects around the kitchen when it was time to cook, and some of the dishes were dirty, so we had to wash them before using them. At night there wasn’t enough light to sit and have dinner comfortably. There were also loads of insects, plus bugs crawling on the bathroom floor, especially while we were showering. I think the whole place needs a thorough clean and some renovation.

If you’re after a quiet escape from routine, with privacy and nature all around, I’d really recommend cabana de ribeira delos. As someone mentioned in an earlier review, it feels like a place from a film. We visited in autumn, and both the scenery and the accommodation went beyond what we expected. The grounds are so lovely that I imagine you could enjoy the outdoor space even more in summer. Getting there means navigating narrow lanes and some very steep climbs, though that’s to be expected in this kind of location. The service was five stars. Mr. Joaquim was very kind, approachable, and helpful.

The quiet was absolute, with only the sounds of nature around us. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals, and the hosts welcomed us warmly. They were exceptionally friendly. The place looks as if it belongs in a film, and it’s beautiful, with everything arranged in a natural style. If you enjoy a peaceful stay surrounded by nature, I highly recommend it.

You can hear the waterfall here, and the whole place is so peaceful, just right for resting close to nature. The cabin itself looks like something from a movie. This spot really is special, and I think everyone should try it. Mr. Joaquim and his family own this lovely place. They’re wonderful people, so attentive and helpful. I loved everything.
