Dom Fernando I

A clean, welcoming family-run hotel, in a perfect spot in Loule. It's comfortable and reasonably priced, and the cleaning staff are friendly and exceptionally good at their jobs. Great service, bravo. This would be my first choice if I stayed in Loule again.

For what we paid, the clean rooms and good location were okay, but the breakfast was absolutely rubbish. The coffee was the worst we've ever had and was undrinkable. There were no cucumbers, tomatoes, or other healthy options, just a few sad fruits that had probably been cut the day before. The bread selection was poor, so we skipped breakfast after the first morning. Parking could also be hard to find at certain times. Don't count on an empty spot when you arrive.

On my first visit, the room was spacious and very clean, with two beds, and it was on the second floor. Last time I was on the third floor, and the room wasn't comfortable. The bathroom wasn't clean, there was no plastic bag in the bin, and I saw a cockroach in the bathroom.

We went to the restaurant and were seated, but then they forgot about us. No one came to the table until we flagged someone down to take our order. When the fish arrived, it was raw, and there was no salt on the table, so we had to flag the waiter again. The food wasn't good. I won't be back.
