A really cool place for a relaxing stay, tucked away in the middle of nowhere. It has the feel of authentic inland Alentejo and everyday southern Portuguese culture. The host and staff will welcome you like family if you’re in the right mood. Highly recommended.

The pool and the area around it were amazing, and our dog loved being there too. We’d never visited before, and were surprised when we arrived by how magical and peaceful the place felt. We stayed for the previous three nights, and I can’t imagine anyone not thoroughly enjoying it. Definitely recommend!

We arrived without a reservation or any formalities at midnight, after an 8-hour drive from Spain. I was in Sines to repair a vessel at Sines Port, and Juano offered us what we needed. The staff gave us great attention, and the calm here was a relief. Across 14 countries, this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s a lovely place to disconnect from city life, smog, and stress, and reconnect with nature. All we could hear were birds and the bells of the cows nearby. It’s pet friendly, so bring your dog and let it roam free. I have a hunting dog, and this is the happiest I’ve ever seen her. We had a great time exploring nearby. It isn’t expensive at all. I recommend coming for a weekend and enjoying the freedom. Thank me later 😁😄 I recommended it to my whole company.

Joao, the boss, is always ready to help and does everything he can to make your trip excellent. Our three days at the Monte Xisto Hotel Rural were excellent, with peace and quiet and kind staff. Everything was perfect. 10/10! Thanks!

It’s right in the middle of nowhere and very quiet, exactly what we wanted. We booked a room out of season while on our Rota Vicentina MTB route. The owners are really friendly and nice. If you get the chance, book dinner here too, highly recommended. Hopefully we’ll stop again in the hotter season and get to use the pool :)
