Casa da Monservia

Please think carefully before booking this house. There was mold in the rooms and a strange smell that stayed on our clothes even after we got home and washed them several times. Four weeks after returning, we could still smell it. The hosts tried to mask it with scented sticks. We stayed for a week in late September 2023 with my parents, my brother, and three small children. The hosts were very nice when we arrived. After checkout, though, we asked for a refund and they refused straight away, then stopped communicating with us. To me, that makes it seem they may have known about the mold and smell and wanted to make money from a house that shouldn’t be rented to guests. I’m worried that staying around the spores could cause serious health problems. Please don’t book until you can be sure the dangerous spores are gone and the mold has been completely removed.
