The rooms are lovely, the setting is beautiful, the staff are great, and breakfast is amazing. It’s a terrific place, with nothing to complain about. You’ll need a car or taxi to reach town, since it’s not really walkable, but the staff will help with whatever you need. Stay here!

We stayed four nights and would happily come back. It’s a nice blend of a hotel and a home, so you feel comfortable and can use the kitchen, fridge, freezer, and the other shared living spaces. There’s a pool and private parking, and breakfast has a delicious, wide range of choices. The staff are friendly and attentive.

The room was comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches like fresh fruit and a glass container of water. The place felt more like a home than a hotel, and we felt like honored guests. I’m really glad we stayed, and would absolutely return. It was an amazing experience and an incredible place for the price, though we only had two days on the island before heading back to Terceira. The welcome and breakfast were wonderful. We were the only guests in the building, but the friendly staff put out an impressive spread that could have fed 15 people, with traditional Azorean dishes and a few familiar American breakfast items. Everything was fresh and delicious. Reception was pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. She let us in when we called, gave us access to our room and the gate, and we could come and go as we pleased. There were two issues in the room. The balcony door was broken at its top hinge, so when we tried to step outside, it opened at the top instead of swinging on the hinges. The security gate meant we didn’t feel unsafe despite that. Also, there wasn’t hot water when we got back in the evening, so we waited until morning to shower. I managed a quick five-minute shower, but the hot water ran out before the other person could shower. We had to wait an hour for it to heat again. At first, I wasn’t sure about our choice. The access road was under construction, which made it hard to reach, and the gate was closed with no clear way to enter. The property is on a side street in a residential area, and the run-down buildings and construction gave the street a negative feel.

The breakfast alone is worth booking for, it was royal, no, imperial. The staff are welcoming and can help arrange side trips. This beautiful property sits against the mountain, a little outside the city centre, with fantastic views, nicely decorated rooms, a huge garden, and a small pool area. Highly recommended.
