The rooms and beds were clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and breakfast was simple, cozy, and served well. We came for the chestnut festival and Zé gave us a warm welcome, along with a wine tasting and plenty of local history and information. Inside, the fire was lovely and warm. There are two indoor common areas, one with a fireplace and one with a card table. We’d like to return in spring or summer.

The host sells very good red wine at a reasonable price, and this is a lovely spot for stargazing, with the Milky Way visible. The villa is nice, with good old-style rooms, though they were a little cold in October. Breakfast was very poor, so I’d skip it.

This place exceeded what we expected. It’s very clean and has everything you need to spend some quality time in nature, right among the attractions. The owner was lovely, as was his assistant Bob, the dog. Definitely somewhere we’d return to.
