We had everything we needed for cooking at the house, and Serpa and Mina de S. Domingos, both with good restaurants, are not far away. Artur and Ana were always available without being intrusive, which is essential for me to feel comfortable. They also brought some regional products for breakfast each day. The pool was a great relief in the high temperatures, and the views over the Alentejo countryside, with its distinctive colors, felt like a trip back in time. The Monte is pretty, simple, and very peaceful, about 400 meters from the nearest road. I visited this fantastic place for the second time, from June 16 to 20, 2025, and couldn’t have made a better choice. I’ll be back. Until next time, Artur & Ana. It was a pleasure, thank you both! The rooms are all decorated with details typical of the area, and the house is easy to reach with outdoor parking. There’s a lovely private pool, plus an adjoining kitchen and an outdoor dining and sitting area. You also have a charcoal grill and a wood-fired oven. It’s an excellent family home in beautiful surroundings, with horses and sheep on the neighboring land.

The house is cozy and comfortable, and it stayed cool inside even on days when it was 35 degrees. The pool was okay 😉. Artur is a wonderful host who brings Alentejo bread and cinnamon cake every day 😋.

The renovated farmhouse has all the essentials, with a lovely pool to cool off and a welcoming terrace for warm summer evenings. Horses and sheep surround this peaceful, relaxing place, a fine taste of the Alentejo. Arthur and Anna are warm and helpful, and happy to point out local features and hidden gems. You’re between Spain, about 1 hour 45 minutes from Seville, and the regional park’s attractions. Time flies here. The nights are cool, so even in the middle of summer, you can sleep well. A wonderful stay, and I’d love to return. Many thanks to Arthur and Anna for their welcome and availability.
