Casas das Amoreiras

Lisbon is about 40 km away for a city visit, and Sesimbra beach is 12 km away, where you can swim in a bay. There's also an ocean beach 1 km away. A nice place for a holiday.

The house sat on the edge of the ravine, with wonderful views. We found fresh fruit from the orchard from the owners, and there are bikes you can rent for free. The pool area was lovely, with beautiful bushes and no wind. A very kind woman looked after everything. The beach is close by too. Just right for a relaxing family holiday.

You get great views of the countryside from this lovely spot. It's just outside town, so it stays very quiet.

For a first visit, don't expect much comfort in the houses. And if you're coming as a group, it seems you're only welcome if you rent the whole place. I've been coming to Casas das Amoreiras for years, but things have stayed the same. The bar area is the only part that's changed, and unfortunately it's the part with the most restrictions on how you can use it. On my last two visits, the owner was less friendly and put lots of limits on anything to do with getting together. I've always treated everything that was supposedly available for guests with care, but on my last visit even use of the bar area's dishes was restricted. I'm sorry, but I won't be returning to Casas das Amoreiras.
