Hotel Campanile Lisbonne Sud - Setubal

The pool area was clean and a perfect place to relax, and having plenty of parking where we could keep the car in view made it easy to come and go whenever we wanted. We stayed for 12 nights, choosing this hotel for its location and affordable price, since local prices vary a lot. Check-in was simple, with a friendly welcome in Portuguese and English. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Housekeepers came each day to clean, change towels, and refill toiletries. All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, would come back, and highly recommend it. Thank you for a lovely time.

The rooms had loose bathroom floor tiles with water underneath, a bathroom door that wouldn’t close, and a musty smell throughout. You could hear every word from the next room, and the soap dispensers looked like they were from the ’70s, with shampoo that probably was too. The air conditioning didn’t work, and neither did its fan. Meanwhile, there are brand-new EV chargers out in the parking lot. It’s a Portuguese miracle the place is still holding together. I doubt “Tesla people” would stay even half a night.

There’s plenty of parking around the hotel, and the staff were polite and helpful. We only spent one night and arrived late, so I can’t say much more about the place. It’s decent and clean, and worth the price for a night or two. What cost it a couple of stars was the motel-like feel, with so many rooms, along with the old carpet and appliances in our room.

The WiFi was excellent, and breakfast was great.
