Breakfast offered lots of choices, including vegetarian options, and there were several shared spaces to sit and relax outside the room. The Wi-Fi was fast, the TV had channels in several languages, and the rooms were quiet and shut out street noise well. They were also spotless, bright, airy, and luxurious, with large, clean bathrooms. The building is a wonderful historic renovation that keeps its older architectural feel. Across from a large public plaza and the old medieval part of town, the location was ideal. The waterfront and one of the country's largest covered public markets were both just a couple of minutes away, with restaurants and pubs for every taste nearby. The staff were cheerful, knowledgeable, helpful, and spoke perfect English. We've stayed in many places around Europe over the past few months, and Rio Art Hotel was hands down the best. We couldn't say enough good things about it. Booking here is a safe bet.

We took a one night trip from Lisbon and had such a lovely stay at Rio Art Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were so welcoming, kind, and accommodating. They shared recommendations and had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. It's very central, so everything's easy to reach on foot. We highly recommend it!

I’m back at Rio Art, and the staff are outstanding: kind, courteous, attentive, always there, and ready to help with any questions. The location is easy to reach by car and convenient for the waterfront and everything happening in town. I love the hotel’s quirky uniqueness, from the decorations and room layouts to how every room is different. The breakfast room has separate little areas, so you can sit together or have some space if you prefer. You can play the white piano downstairs or chat with the crew about Setúbal and the surrounding area. Thank you all!
