Casa do Largo Silves

We stayed as a family and were all impressed by Casa do Largo’s charm, facilities and location. The owner has made a luxurious yet authentic place in a beautiful, peaceful Portuguese village. It’s an exceptional experience.

Casa do Largo was a wonderful home for our family in Silves, the castle town. From the first moment, it felt like a warm blanket. The house is cosy, comfortable, carefully decorated and fully equipped. Its layout worked really well for the five of us, giving us plenty of space while keeping that homely feel. The location is great, an easy walk to the charming centre, with its little streets, terraces and authentic atmosphere. The grocery store around the corner from the adjoining square had everything we needed. We also caught the annual Silves Beer Festival and loved its atmosphere. The sea is a 20-minute drive away. After a beach day, we could unwind in the jacuzzi on the adjoining roof terrace and watch the storks fly overhead. The friendly owners were always available if we had questions. Thanks so much for having us. We loved the peace, cosiness and atmosphere, and will take home lovely memories. We’ve stayed at the Casa do Largo city villa in Silves before, and this time there were five of us. It won’t be our last visit. Silves is our favourite spot in the Algarve: still pristine, with charming terraces, great restaurants, plenty of shops, and a good base for exploring the beaches. The villa sits on a charming square where little happens, but the Portuguese villagers give it a pleasant vibe. It’s very comfortable and fully equipped. At the heart of the house is a spacious kitchen with everything you need. The bedrooms are lovely and roomy, each with its own bathroom and sitting area. The beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of generous towels, so you won’t want for anything. The large roof terrace works for almost any time of day, whether you’re relaxing under the parasol on a beach lounger, soaking in the jacuzzi, or having a meal while watching the sunset. We booked directly, and everything went smoothly. Communication was excellent and we got a warm welcome. We’ll definitely be back!

We’ve now stayed at Casa do Largo six times this year, renting the villa from Peter and Helen Sue, and it really does feel like coming home. You’re right beside an old church, living among the locals, in a lovely spot. The house has three roomy bedrooms, each with its own toilet and shower, plus a comfortable lounge with Dutch TV channels. It’s equipped with modern conveniences, and there’s a folder inside with restaurant and beach tips and instructions for the appliances. The rooftop is a real treat, with plenty of seats and shades. There’s also a lovely new jacuzzi that connects to your phone for music. We’d happily come back for a seventh stay, and Peter and Helen Sue are part of the reason.
