We stayed for a weekend in February 2026 and were delighted with our choice. It’s a homely hotel with friendly staff, lovely grounds, and a comfortable lounge. Silves is a pretty town, just a ten-minute stroll away. The bedrooms are a bit dated, but that adds to the hotel’s charm. Breakfast is self-service, with a good selection. It’s excellent value for money. I’d recommend booking a castle-view room for the lovely sight of Silves castle lit up across the river.

The room was spacious, with effective heating for the cold nights, and a wonderful view of the town and castle. We also found the public bar and lounge comfortable. We spent two nights here on a short return trip to this beautiful town, and the value was exceptionally good. The room price is unbeatable and includes a decent breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return on our next trip to Portugal. Excellent!!

The grounds are well kept, and there’s a nice pool area. Our room was clean and had a small deck overlooking the castle, and breakfast was included. The rooms are dated, but it’s still a great budget-friendly option and well worth the price.

If you’ve never seen how the other half live and need a lesson in humility, this hotel could be a good start. The people here are poor but proud. Directly across from the hotel is an abandoned olive oil factory. The previous owners left their eight dogs behind, and they bark all night. I’ve been feeding them and have posted videos on the local expat forums. I’d appreciate it if new guests could keep feeding them.

It’s an easy enough walk to the restaurants, castle and cathedral in town, and the views over Silves are lovely. The hotel is comfortable and has a nice outdoor pool. One small thing they could improve: there are no pool towels, so you need to bring your room bath towel.
