The highlight was the sea view, and it didn’t disappoint. We got beautiful sunsets and quiet surroundings, with only the wind and sea to disturb the peace. It felt like just what you’d expect from a rural seaside place set away from everyone else. Check-in was easy, the owner was kind, and our spacious room had simple country decor. We also got a generous breakfast in the morning, which we could eat in our room or outside since we visited during Covid times. We had everything we needed and would definitely stay again.

This is a small house beside the main one, so we had lots of privacy. The owners were friendly, and breakfast was great, especially considering how far it is from the nearest supermarket. Just keep in mind this is a "hotel" in a natural park, in the middle of nowhere. It’s quiet and rugged, so relax and enjoy the wind and ocean sounds.

The Refugio is in a wonderful location, but the family running it were extremely rude and unwelcoming. We arrived on foot after walking for 7 hours, just as it started to rain, and they wouldn’t let us enter because check-in was still 30 minutes away. They were having lunch, and it was clearly inconvenient for them to deal with us. They made us feel like a nuisance throughout our stay.

The bathroom flooded with sewage while I was showering, which is a serious hygiene issue. When I told the owner, he didn't offer another room or any refund, and suggested that we or earlier guests had caused it. Planning had already been difficult because the hotel never replied to my enquiry emails about transport and meals. The place is right on the Rota Vicentina, with a lovely setting, comfortable facilities, regional breakfast, and soup available as a light dinner. The hostess speaks very little English; the owner speaks it fairly well, though he seems to start almost everything with “This is a problem...” He was willing to drive walkers to the nearest town for a nearly reasonable fee. It's handy if you're a tired walker, but otherwise I'd skip it. Compared with other places in the region, it's expensive.

Waking up to the sea from bed was lovely, and the terrace has the same stunning view. It's right on the Fishermen‘s Trail, and breakfast was nice.
