I had a really nice stay in beautiful Sintra and appreciated how kindly the owner treated me. The manager deserves credit for thinking about what guests might need and providing the basics: an electric kettle, cups, tea, coffee, and sugar. There was also a microwave and refrigerator in the hallway.
My stay was really perfect. I booked a clean, comfortable room with a queen bed and private shower, right in the centre of Sintra. The staff cleaned the room and changed the towels every other day. Check-in instructions were very clear, so there’s no need for a face-to-face conversation if you’d rather not have one.
There’s no one inside to speak with, and everything goes through WhatsApp. Messages were prompt during working hours, but the communication wasn’t very efficient. Getting around is tough too: there were no taxi or Uber drivers there, and the streets are steep, narrow, uneven stone, so be ready to haul your luggage. An Uber might take a while to find a driver, then cancel minutes later because they can’t drive there. The place itself is charming, spacious, and nice, with restaurants and castles within walking distance. But the bathroom in our room smelled bad, perhaps from old pipes rather than sewage. We had to shut the bathroom door and open its window, and the smell still lingered when we came in from outside.
I slept so well in the bed and loved every minute of my stay in this little apartment. It felt like an oasis in the middle of Sintra, with the main busy pedestrian street right outside the window. There’s a handy kitchen, plus a dining room and a comfortable living room to relax in. The hosts were very available and helpful on WhatsApp. Thank you!
Being in the historic centre made it easy to walk to lots of sights, take a stroll, and be back at the apartment in ten minutes. It was clean and everything worked, and the owners replied almost immediately whenever we texted with a question or needed something. The service was nice and forthcoming, and getting in was straightforward, with detailed instructions for finding the key. Parking isn’t allowed in that area, so check that before you visit a historic city. We left the car for free at Sintra parking. We were lucky to find a spot right away each day, and the 15-minute walk worked fine for us. I really recommend these apartments in Sintra.
