The whole stay was disappointing, and we wouldn't recommend this place to anyone coming to see Sintra and its palaces. The owner wasn't there to greet us, and nobody helped us carry our luggage up the many stairs. The directions about what to visit were sparse and confusing, and we didn't even get a proper map of Sintra. The building felt old and dated. The curtains and bed linen were worn, and the comforter was yellowish inside. Our room heated up quickly, and each evening after our day trips it smelled musty. We had to open every window for about 20 minutes to air it out. The shower didn't drain properly, so water collected in the shower cabin. The location was another problem. It's quite far from the city center and high up, making the walk back long and tiring each evening. The breakfast window was only 9:30 to 10:30 am, which is awkward when Sintra's palaces open at 9:30. Check-out also started at 9:30 am, difficult for people with early international flights. Daily cleaning was scheduled from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, and guests had to hand in their only room key in the middle of the day. That wasn't convenient for people out visiting Sintra rather than staying around the hotel. We paid more than 200 dollars a night for a B&B with practically no service and no functioning front desk. The place felt dreary, and there was nothing romantic about losing money and time. It wasn't worth the cost or effort.

Avoid this place. They overcharge, and guests aren't treated with respect.
