Downtown Alegria

The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with homemade jams. The owners were attentive and so helpful with advice about beaches, restaurants and taxis. We had two rooms, both clean and comfortable, each with a pleasant little outdoor space. It was a wonderful surprise to find this place in such a fantastic town centre spot overlooking a square. Highly recommended!

We had breakfast at Downtown Alegria B&B most days because it was so delicious, and the beautiful terrace was a lovely place to sit. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful. The location made it easy to explore the city and its countless good restaurants, as well as head to Tavira Island. Everything was as described on the website, and we can definitely recommend Downtown Alegria B&B.

At 11:30pm, I had to leave my twin room because it had bedbugs and try to find somewhere else to stay. The owner didn't respond at all, and I still haven't seen any refund. Absolutely appalling service.

We had a good stay in Tavira, and the price seemed fair for what we got. The B&B is right in the centre, with a really nice rooftop terrace, and there's a very good pizzeria on the ground floor. The place is nicely furnished, with a cosy living room connected to a very well-equipped kitchen. The owners were helpful with some extras for the baby, and check-in included a nice introduction to the city. A few things caught us out. The name BB is confusing because breakfast wasn't included in our booking through the booking partners. We booked quite quickly and didn't notice that a baby cot cost an extra 15,00 Euro per night. We travelled around South Portugal, and this was the only accommodation that charged for one. Although the kitchen is well equipped, guests aren't encouraged to prepare their own food there. There was also no room cleaning service, so we collected our waste, mostly diapers, ourselves.
