Formosa Guest House

I stopped here for a night during a cycling trip. The room was spacious and lovely, with a view over the square, and the shared bathroom was handy and spotless. Reception were friendly and helpful, including with storing my bike. I'd happily stay again.

During a week cycling around the Algarve, this was one of my favourite places to stay. The building has a rambling layout, spacious rooms, shared kitchen areas, and a great roof terrace. Rooms are named after birds, with paintings of them by a local artist. The place is bright, colourful, and very friendly. Miguel greeted us at reception and was one of the best hosts we've come across: relaxed, cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. There's space to store bicycles, and he knows the area well. It's a lovely, affordable stay in a beautiful town. Keep up the good work!

The roof has incredible views, and the rooms look gorgeous, with traditional Portuguese style. I loved the artistic room signs and themed keyrings, and the garden is pleasant. The location is perfect, and the gentleman at reception gave me a friendly and helpful welcome. The kitchen is handy too. It is a shame that the toilets and showers are outside the rooms. Someone could also pick up the cat poo on the rooftop.

The roof terrace was a real highlight, with 360-degree views across the river and town. It gave us the peaceful, relaxing feeling I was hoping for on a romantic trip with my boyfriend, and honestly exceeded my expectations. The guest house is in the historic center, close to everything but still quiet. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with personal touches. The staff were so welcoming, especially Miguel, who gave us useful local suggestions that made the trip even better. I highly recommend this place for the hospitality, comfort, and location, and I'll definitely return. The room names are animals from the Ria Formosa natural reserve, with hand-painted pictures on every door.
