We had clean sheets, but the apartment needed a deep clean. On arrival, the toilet was dirty, there was dried food on the counters, old food in the cupboard and a couple of dirty plates. The shower was risky to use because it swung between cold and scalding hot. We stayed five nights and weren’t greeted or in contact with any staff. The location is handy for shops and places to eat, though it was a little hard to find using the directions we got when booking. There’s lots to see and do in Tavira, and it’s a wonderful place to visit.

There are quite a few steps up to the apartment, though they aren’t steep and were manageable for us. They could be difficult for someone with a disability or a baby buggy. Inside, it’s bright, attractive, spacious and secure, with all the conveniences we could need: a lovely bathroom, shower, air conditioning, WiFi, TV with Netflix and appliances. We had two balconies, one private and one shared. For the space and facilities, it’s great value and much cheaper than the hotels nearby.

Restaurants, the Roman bridge and ferries to the beach are just steps away, even though the setting is quiet. Our place was large, clean and modern, with both a balcony and a terrace. Heaven.

I almost don’t want to say anything because I’d like to keep this place to myself. It’s clean and spacious, and sits perfectly in this pretty town.
