Ricardo, the owner, was incredibly kind. I’d left my phone behind on the way to the hotel, and he immediately offered to drive me back to get it, giving up over an hour of his day. We had such a lovely evening here, and I’d highly recommend staying. We plan to come back. The rooms were immaculate, the welcome at check-in was warm, and the beds were comfortable. Dinner meant a five-minute taxi ride into town to a very good restaurant. The coffee was the best we’d had on this trip. At breakfast there was Greek yogurt and berries, along with the usual fresh bread, cheese and meats.

The room was small, and the bed wasn’t comfortable, but the restored historic house is amazing and the pool is absolutely stunning. We had a wonderful day there. Ask the manager to share the story of the place and show you where they make the wine!

The view over the Homem river valley and mountain range is fantastic, and the hotel made for a really relaxing weekend. The pool is great, everything is very clean, and everyone was kind. They even let us keep using the pool after checkout. Breakfast was very good too. Excellent value for money, and I definitely recommend a visit.
