The room had a very comfortable king bed and a patio looking out at the castle. It was a good value, and the location made it easy to walk through the old town or head up the hill. Since it was off season and many rooms were empty, they wisely put guests in rooms with great views. Service was excellent. Breakfast was good, served in a lovely, bright room with lots of open space. Parking cost 5 euro a day. Cocktails in the lounge were pricey, though the bartender could sometimes make them worth it. We had a great stay.

A roomy space, with a separate entry area for putting shoes and clothes, made the stay comfortable. This is a classic, old-school European hotel in the middle of Portugal. The staff were very accommodating, and the amenities felt like five-star quality to me. Check in, explore Tomar, and get to know the place.

What really surprised us was the Grão Mestre restaurant. The food was high quality and the staff were lovely, especially the room manager. Afterwards, the bar next door had a pianist playing great popular music from around the world. The hotel is also great value, in a lovely spot by green areas and a quiet river, close to the fabulous Convent of Christ.

The restaurant at the hotel was top notch, and the rooms were neat, clean, and comfortable. We also loved the hotel's location and atmosphere. Staff provided amazing, friendly service.

Room 425 felt like a dream, with incredible views and privacy, and upgrading to it was fabulous. My wife was very impressed. The whole hotel felt welcoming, and check in was seamless. We arrived early and had a great lunch at the lobby bar. At an hour drive from Lisbon, it was a great idea for us to start the trip here, with such a nice destination and a cool neighborhood. We enjoyed the short, fun, romantic walk to the dining area, then ended the evening with a stroll through the square and park. Wish we could have stayed many more nights. We'll be back!
