Stoke Portugal Surf House

The outdoor area was where we spent most of our time when we weren’t surfing or going out, and it was great for a bigger group. The pool was amazing, the rooms were cozy and well put together, the bathrooms were clean and new, and the food was great and changed every day. The surf beach was five minutes away by car, and the nearest shops and bars were walkable. This was my third time at a surf house organized by Stoke Travel. The first two were in San Sebastian, Spain, and this time I came to Portugal with my girlfriend. Every time, Stoke’s employees have been so kind and welcoming, and of course they speak English. They make you feel at home. A great place to come alone or with someone, with people from all over the world.

The bathrooms were clean and nice, and we loved going with everyone to watch the sunset on the beach and listen to jazz. The house was lovely, and the volunteers and staff did more than expected to help us during our stay. Highly recommend!

A really good place to meet people and unwind, with a positive atmosphere all the time. The people are great, and it’s ideal for learning to surf and having fun in the waves.

I’d never stayed in a hostel before, so this one has probably set a high bar 😁 The outdoor bathroom was amazing, and there are indoor ones too, don’t worry. The sleeping pods were comfy with fresh sheets, the whole place was clean, and there were plenty of boards and wetsuits for everyone. The pool was always clean, and the backyard was really nice. Food was great too. Sara and Amelie, the kitchen was so clean, which matters a lot to me. I’m sorry I complained about the vegan dinner and eggplant, which I ended up loving ❤️ Hannah got our laundry washed, dried, and folded on the same day. Loved that! “Bob” was always there helping with things and improving the place, in full Bob the Builder mode. He taught me a bit about woodworking and kept cheering me on even though I failed a lot. Ruben, the surf instructor, is the calmest, most loving person I’ve met. He wants you to fall in love with the water and surfing, which is what matters most. Theresa, the mom of the house, was helpful, kind, and patient with everyone, including me and my frequent questions while working all day as a workaholic. Honestly, I don’t know how she does it 😂 They organized everything, made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed, and took us wherever we wanted to go. I’m sorry if you don’t get to know these people, but I’m sure all the Stoke people at this house will be good!
