The staff went out of their way to help us, and the hotel had great rooms in a great location. Fantastic stay.

Breakfast was varied and excellent, and the service was faultless. This is a lovely manor house, well located and thoughtfully designed and decorated. The room was spacious, beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. A special, unforgettable place. I'd love to return and would recommend it.

I hadn't looked at the website, so I didn't know we were heading to the "Jewel of Trancoso." After staying at one of Porto's excellent old hotels, I wasn't expecting much from our time at the Solar. I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful boutique hotel, with thoughtful details in the decor, practical touches, and views, all done with style and the comfort of a family room. If we ever return to that part of the world, this would be our only choice. Dave and Nelie Tucker, Green Brook, New Jersey, USA.

Breakfast arrived every morning with bread, cheese, meats, and fruit. The apartment is right in the city center, yet behind the walls it feels like a little oasis, with a nice pool and yard. It's kid-friendly, and I'd definitely recommend it!

Right in the center of town, with really comfortable beds and great showers. The owner was always around and happy to help.
