Pousada Da Juventude De Foz Coa

The room and bathroom were spotless and new, and the canteen was clean too. Everything was in good condition, and the staff were kind and helpful. The hostel sits at the edge of town, where it’s peaceful apart from the sounds of nature. Our room had stunning views of the landscape. I loved the stay and would happily come back to relax and get away from the rest of the world.

Breakfast is decent and included with every reservation. It’s a perfectly fine place for a typical youth stay, and I don’t really have complaints. Just keep in mind that the rooms are very well insulated for cold winter nights, so in summer you have to open the windows or you’ll feel baked alive.

A clean bed and breakfast, and good value for the money.

The women’s shower wasn’t working, so we had to use one separated from the toilets only by a curtain. I also found bed lice in my room. When I reported it, the staff didn’t seem surprised, and the two women working there never apologized. I asked for my money back, but they wouldn’t refund me directly. Instead, I could email some ‘person in lisbon’ to decide whether I qualified. The worst hostel stay of all my travels. Don’t go here!
