Douro Riverside Apartments

The hosts got back to us promptly whenever we had a question or concern, and they were very accommodating. The spot is safe, with everything within walking distance. It’s on a road beside a bike shop, so getting there may be a little tricky, but I’d stay again.

From the apartment, the view of Porto was beautiful, and the place was clean and had nearly everything we needed. We’d stay again. We just wish we’d been told about construction on both sides of the apartment and on the roof. Workers drilled, banged and shouted from early morning through the day. A heads-up and some complimentary earplugs would’ve helped. We bought plugs at a local pharmacy, and after that the noise wasn’t a problem.

The view is great and the location is good. The building is very old, though the place was still pretty clean. Water got all over the floor every time I showered because there was a gap in the shower door glass. The entry instructions were hard to figure out, and unloading luggage outside was difficult. Having a car would make things a lot of hassle. Without the view, I’d give it three stars.

You can enjoy a fantastic view right from the room, both day and night. The apartment is just beside the bridge, and walking downtown takes about 30-40 minutes. It was clean and quiet after 22.00, with Wi-Fi and everything else we needed. We’ll definitely stay here again. ❤️
