The room was basic but suited us perfectly. It was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and pointed us toward local places to eat. Porto is a manageable 40-minute walk away. We paid extra for the breakfast buffet and thought it was very good value, with plenty of choice. You could even squeeze your own orange juice.

I stayed three nights at Ibis Porto Gaia, which is in a complex shared with other Accor hotels. The city center is a bit far, though you can get there by public transport or an online taxi. My room and bathroom were spacious, and the soft bed and pillows made it easy to sleep. I booked breakfast too, and the varied menu was delicious, with continental choices like juice, coffee from a machine, pastries, and fresh fruit. The hotel also offers an affordable dinner combo if you don't want to go out. RETNA was friendly, spoke fluent English and Indonesian, and helped me choose the best food. The meal was delicious, and the package price included a main, drink, and dessert. There is only one elevator, so if you're in a rush you can use the stairs or travel outside busy times. The price felt fair for the room and breakfast. As an ALL member, I skipped daily cleaning to earn 100 points per day. That worked well since the room wasn't too dirty and I could keep using the same towels.

The price was very good with breakfast included. They can also let you check in early if a room is available. The service was good, and there's a nice beach view for watching the sunset.

Breakfast was great, and the location and friendly staff made the stay even better. I’d have rated it 10, but a few small problems with the toilet in our room brought it down to 9 this time.

We had a lovely sea view at this hotel. Porto centre is a really long walk away, but I’d still recommend staying here 👌
