Park Hotel Porto Gaia

Getting into the city center was easy by bus or metro with the Andante public transport card. Google Maps has all the connections. I stayed two nights, May 25-27. The staff were professional, and the rooms modern, practical, and impeccably clean. Unfortunately, the soundproofing is quite poor. On the first night I had neighbors shouting, banging objects against the walls and floors, and yes, having (or pretending to have?) loud sex. Even my earplugs couldn’t block it out, so be prepared. You might get unlucky.

The room was amazing and quiet. Everything was nice, but the breakfast food wasn’t really good.

Free private parking was a real bonus, and Porto was only about 10-15 minutes away by car or Uber. I had a great short stay at Park Hotel Porto Gaia. The rooms are compact, but clean and comfortable, and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fairly basic for the price, and you could hear some road noise. Still, good value, especially for a quick visit or a business trip.

There was always space in the hotel's large parking lot, which was a big plus. The reception team were attentive, and breakfast was included in the rate and better than Ibis. This Gaia hotel has a standard similar to Ibis, and the sign outside showed 70 Euros for two people, a very good price. Bring a car if you're visiting Porto, where traffic is less chaotic than Lisbon. It's not really a tourist hotel and fills up during the week, so book ahead.
