Quinta do Pedregal Hotel & Spa

The staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean, and I had a really pleasant massage surrounded by nature. But our room was humid enough to leave a bad smell, and there were a few issues, including worn bathrobes and no minibar. The hotel is on a village street, rather than out in nature as the website photos suggest. Breakfast could be better.

The staff made us feel welcome from check-in through checkout. Everyone was helpful, pleasant, and greeted us with a smile. The hotel and spa were clean, modern, and cozy, and it would suit a romantic weekend or another kind of getaway. We stayed in what I think was probably the smallest bungalow. It was fine, though nothing memorable. The spa was pleasant and clean. Rain meant we couldn’t use the outdoor jacuzzi, which was a shame, maybe next time. Porto and Gaia are around 20-30 minutes away, so the location works well enough. Being in a residential area does interrupt the illusion a little, but that’s how it is.

By the end of the stay, I felt relaxed and cozy. The staff were exceptional and adjusted our meals as best they could, even though the restaurant has been closed for a long time. One of us needed gluten-free food, and I’m vegetarian, so we appreciated their effort. We visited in winter, and the main pool could have been warmer. We ended up retreating to the jacuzzi a few times.

The spa is small, but it’s enough to unwind, with two saunas and a jacuzzi. Breakfast was very good and had lots to choose from, including bread, honey, eggs, jam, cheese, yogurt, cakes, pancakes, croissants, fruit, and chocolate. The hotel is comfortable, and the service is friendly and excellent.
