Check-in was easy, with smooth key pickup and clear communication from the host. The place was clean too. A few small things could be better: the torn curtains don’t block the light properly, and there’s only one outlet on one side of the bed. An extension cord would make power available on the other side. Breakfast was quite basic, with no vegetables or traditional Portuguese items like chorizo, and the bread should be out from the beginning. It starts at 08:15, but should be fully ready then. Reception is only available at checkout, though that didn’t cause me any trouble. With these little improvements, it could be a really great stay. All the best, and thanks again!

Helena was so friendly and accommodating, and gave us lots of useful tips for making the most of our visit. Since I’m vegan, I checked with her before we travelled, and she made sure there was plenty for me to eat each morning. The fresh food was delicious and nicely presented, with lots of fruit and even some pastries. My Mum and I stayed for three nights, arriving from Lisbon on the Alpha train. In under three hours we were in Porto, then it was just a few minutes to Serra do Pilar Suites to leave our bags before heading out. The location made everything easy: it’s on a quiet street, but only a short, easy five-minute walk across the bridge to Porto. Two train stations are very close, and there are tram stops at both ends of the street. The rooms looked just as advertised, with lovely decor, plenty of space, good equipment, and a high standard of cleanliness. We both slept well in the comfortable beds. This is easily my favourite place to stay when visiting beautiful Porto. I couldn’t rate it highly enough, and I’d happily return and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The street looked a little questionable on Street View, but we were very happy with our three days at Serra do Pilar Porto Suites. Antonio was an exceptionally gracious and helpful host, and the inside was clean and comfortable. Sara looked after breakfast and was friendly and welcoming. The food was fresh, tasty, and filling. Many sights and transport options were within walking distance, and it was great value.

The decor throughout was tastefully done, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the interior design. The rooms had everything I needed, felt as good as a five-star hotel, and had extremely comfortable beds. Booking online was easy, and the attentive staff were ready to help when needed. Breakfast was a real treat, all fresh produce and a home-from-home start to the day. Connections across the river are close by, so you can sleep away from the noisy city centre. I’d gladly recommend this guest house and will definitely return. Congratulations to the management.

The owners’ efforts to avoid little plastic containers for things like butter, jam, and shower gel were a nice touch. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, and the location was great, about a five-minute walk from the Pont Dom-Luis. The bedroom was cosy, comfortable, and very clean, with air conditioning. They even welcomed us with port and chocolates. This was the best hotel of our trip around Portugal. Just perfect, thank you.
