The Rebello Resort

The hotel has beautiful design, a great spa, and views to die for. Service was relaxed but efficient, breakfast was amazing, and the complimentary minibar drinks were a nice touch. I absolutely loved staying here. The room service menu was quite limited, though, and I would have liked more vegetarian options. The spa was much busier in the evening and less relaxing, so go in the morning if you want to use it. Aside from that, everything was great.

My balcony view was absolutely beautiful, and it's still the part of this hotel I think about most. I rarely write hotel reviews, but this seemed too good not to share. It's one of the best hotel views I've had at an "affordable luxury" place. There are only a limited number of balcony river-view rooms, so I strongly recommend paying extra to secure one in advance. I paid $40 per night. You can send reception my picture to request this exact view, as I did during my February 2024 stay. They sometimes have sales, and I paid around $370 per night for my room. It was spacious and very clean, and I have high cleanliness standards. The rooftop bar was gorgeous, I got food there, and the service was nice. They let me leave my luggage after checkout so I could keep enjoying the city. It's about a 10-minute Uber ride to many of Porto's main areas. The spa was okay, but the water was only lukewarm, more like an indoor pool. Breakfast was pretty good, with many options and nice waiters.

We wished we'd stayed longer. The Rebello was worth every penny and exceeded our expectations. We spent two nights across the river in Porto and then two more on the Gaia side, where the location was perfect. They upgraded us to a room the size of a large apartment, with huge windows looking out over Porto and the river. The beds were super comfortable, and the room had great snacks, wine, and drinks, with the first round free. The pool and sauna were beautiful, and breakfast was included with everything you could want.

The staff were the reason we enjoyed our stay so much. They were kind, friendly, and went above and beyond to keep guests safe, informed, and cared for during the stressful impact of unprecedented storm Leonardo. They even found us another equally beautiful place to stay and drove us there. I happened to be at The Rebello during the storm, an unplanned and very unusual circumstance. The hotel is right on the water, which is stunning, and the building was affected by the storm. We also loved the rooms, overall aesthetic, amenities, and location. I can't recommend this place more. It feels less like accommodation and more like a luxury experience.
