Hotel Rural Monte Da Leziria

I’ve been staying at this rural hotel for over a year, and it’s been a wonderful experience. The staff are so kind and friendly, and everything from breakfast to taking a shower has been lovely. In 32 years, I’ll look back on these times fondly. Take care, kind reader. Hope you find somewhere to stay tonight.

There’s parking, breakfast, and a bar, and the hotel has a pleasant setting for a relaxing stay. It feels quite remote, but the rooms, service, and surroundings are decent. The pool is tiny, maybe only suitable for kids. Some of the staff may come across as stiff, though I think that might be down to the owner.

The receptionist was nice and breakfast was okay, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rule about the room key was especially annoying: you have to leave it at the desk unless you’ll be back after midnight. If you try to take it with you, they call you back and make you hand it over. I suppose you could just say you’re returning after midnight. There’s no elevator, no hotel restaurant, and the toilet flush was so forceful that water dripped out when I flushed it. We were traveling with our 10 month old daughter, so we had to get takeaway from nearby restaurants. Chez Daniel is worth trying for seafood, though takeaway places don’t always include cutlery. When we asked the hotel for some, they said lending cutlery to guests wasn’t allowed under their policy. We also had to take our garbage outside to the nearest public bin when we asked where to dispose of it. They wouldn’t let us use their own trash.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet. My only real drawback was breakfast. I could understand that organizing it was complicated because of the covid situation, though. We had a nice stay despite the strict covid measures.
