After such a tough stretch from Bragança to Vinhais, arriving at Casa do Pedro, taking a hot shower, and sleeping in a warm, comfortable bed was such a relief. I’d absolutely recommend it. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept wonderfully. I stayed an extra night, even though I was walking from Vinhais to Sigerei the next day, because there’s nowhere to stay in Sigerei. Paolo and Ana drove out to pick me up once I reached Sigerei, and the next morning I planned to take an early taxi back there to continue the Camino. It was worth it, since the walk from Vinhais to Sigerei is even harder than the previous day’s, and leaving some clothes and weight in the room meant I had less to carry. I arrived while walking the Portuguese Camino de Santiago, and although the hotel is outside Vinhais, they came to collect me and welcomed me into their home. Ana and Paolo, with help from her mother, looked after me wonderfully. It’s a tastefully restored farmhouse with a fantastic bedroom, private bathroom, and mountain views. There’s a pool open in summer and a garden they’re just starting to cultivate. The breakfast they prepare is excellent and generous. They don’t serve dinner, but if you bring food, they’ll let you use a fridge and all the utensils you might need to prepare it.

A lovely stay in Portugal, with a warm welcome, friendly smiles, and a room that suited us perfectly. The rural setting was peaceful, breakfast was generous, and everything was impeccably clean. Thank you, Fatima, for being so hospitable.

I liked the place overall, especially how kind everyone was. It was very peaceful.
