Costanera Hostel Asuncion

I booked through Booking.com, but when I checked in, the hotel hadn’t notified them, so I ended up charged by both the hotel and Booking.com. They tried two card terminals. The first didn’t work, and the second was registered under NUTRICARE LAMBARE PRY, not the hotel. A man who seemed to be the owner kept telling me my refund would come, first on Wednesday, then Friday, but nothing was sorted by the day I had to fly. I had to contact Booking.com several times myself. They couldn’t do much either, so I disputed the charge with my credit card company and eventually got the money back. Nearly a year after my visit, I was charged again by some questionable merchant in Paraguay. It might have been somewhere else I visited there, but I doubt it, since the other places I went in Asuncion were just large restaurants in the city. This place isn’t even on Booking.com anymore. Save your money when you need to, but don’t choose this place. Management was a total disaster. The staff were very nice, but the administration and the whole process were a mess. There were also lots of mosquitoes, and the windows wouldn’t close all the way. It simply wasn’t worth it. I first gave it four stars because it was cheap and the staff were nice, but looking back, it was a complete disaster and a lesson learned.
