Gulf Horizon Hotel

The prices aren't exactly low, and I kept wondering whether the service justified what I was paying. For me, the answer was no. The rooms could be cleaner, and the service needs a lot of improvement. Indian management is in charge, and the hotel seems quite popular with people from the area.

The location is a real plus, right in the textile market and surrounded by different souqs. It's reasonably priced, with large rooms, and could be a very good place to stay if the decor were improved. Cleanliness needs attention too: the carpets and sofas weren't clean, the bed squeaked whenever I moved, and the air conditioners looked old.

The hotel restaurant was a highlight for me. The food was consistently amazing, and the masala chai was great too. Service was good for an average budget hotel. The rooms are very large, but that much space felt empty and a bit lonely. The aircon would suddenly stop working, and even though the bedsheets were changed, they weren't always clean.

There's plenty nearby, including lots of inexpensive restaurants with tasty food and generous portions. It's in the city centre, and the Gulf is just a five-minute walk away, with lovely views. I liked the location, but the room quality wasn't what I expected. I often saw some bugs that weren't harmful, so I gave it four stars.
