Le Tsilaosa

The breakfast was amazing 😍 and the setting is just beautiful, right in the middle of the mountains in a fantastic location.

The breakfast was the best we had on our trip: fresh orange juice from the juicer, homemade iced tea, eggs made to order, several kinds of sausage, good cheese, and crepes, pancakes, cake and bread alongside the croissants and pain au chocolat. Our room was spacious, with a balcony facing the hills, plus a kettle and fridge that came in handy for our hikes. We stayed four nights and found the staff really friendly. They spoke English and helped us book tables at a nearby restaurant, and the parking was free and secure. One thing we’d change is to include the jacuzzi in the room price. A more inviting bar area, with a list of the drinks available, would also be nice.

We had a comfortable bed and incredible mountain views from the balcony. The breakfast was delicious, and all the staff gave amazing service. It’s a beautiful, charming hotel in Cilaos, with clean, well-stocked rooms that feel a little old-fashioned. The only issue for us was that there was no fridge or minibar in the room.

Breakfast was solid, nothing special, though there wasn’t anything we particularly missed. We also missed having WiFi in the room, since it was only available at reception at the time. Other reviews make that seem like an ongoing situation. We stayed two nights for our honeymoon and got a warm, friendly welcome. Our ground-floor room had a small terrace. It smelled a bit old inside, but nothing too bad. The bathroom had been recently renovated, though it was already showing some problems. I’d guess that because Cialosa is usually cool and the bathroom has no central heating, people may forget to open the window. The fully tiled room then gets condensation on every surface, and mold starts in the corners.
